COURSE: The Atlanta Country Club ARCHITECT: William Byrd JNUG DESIGNER: Scott Chesney ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: All objects and the background are my own designs. However, I must acknowledge my friend Jay Johnson, who inspires me to develop courses which hopefully he cannot break par. The Atlanta Country Club is home of the Georgia-Pacific Golf Classic on the PGA Tour. Its rolling, narrow fairways favor the intelligent golfer who can hit straight and plan a well conceived strategy for defeating the course. The greens are of moderate difficulty. In my four test rounds, I ranged from 67 to 78 (the 67 being my most recent, showing that learning this course is quite important. Also, I made the greens easier after my first two miserable test rounds). My favorite holes are 2,7,10,11,15, and 18. Those holes all require good thinking to beat. I have tried to provide the feel for the rolling, tight terrain of the Atlanta Country Club. I must confess though, that I had limited resources to work with in terms of pictures and description (I used the Golf Course of the PGA Tour). Where I lacked pictures, I took educated guesses. If any of you have played the real course, I would welcome any more detailed description of particular holes (uphill, downhill, etc.) that you might provide. In meantime, I hope you enjoy the course. If you have info to send me, please do if you can. Scott Chesney 27 Edgerly-Garrison Road Durham, New Hampshire 03824
