Welcome to Beecham Country Club's Blue course. This course is designed to be a challenge to both the average weekend golfer and the professional. The course plays to an imposing 7735 yards from the blue tees, 6621 yards from the white tees, and 5983 yards from the red tees. Beecham Blue will challenge the golfer not only with length but with it's interesting use of all available hazards, sand, water, trees, and change in elevation. With a careful choice of shots, the golfer will be able to navigate this this course successfully. A small mistake in placement could be the difference between a par or under round and a permanent residence on the beach. This course was designed on a custom plot which started as a PARKLAND plot and was cleared and modified to my own design. The following is a breakdown of the course yardage. Hole Par Blue White Red Tees Tees Tees ------------------------------------------ 1 4 474 381 346 2 3 253 205 170 3 5 608 573 496 4 4 506 448 421 5 4 370 336 296 6 3 237 165 144 7 4 461 400 349 8 4 304 288 264 9 5 640 578 530 Out 36 3853 3374 3021 10 4 440 381 357 11 3 226 117 112 12 5 621 554 514 13 4 480 432 370 14 4 418 360 341 15 4 394 330 269 16 3 221 157 138 17 5 600 522 493 18 4 482 394 368 In 36 3882 3247 2962 Totals 72 7735 6621 5983 As you will notice, some of the Par 4's from the Blue tees are over the length normally assigned to a par 4, this is due to the fact that this course was designed for tournament play and therefore, extra distance was added to make the course more of a challenge to those who can hit a 300+ yard drive and still keep it in the fairway. If the distances from the blue tee's seem a little too unreasonable, play from the white tee's, these are more along the lines of the normal yardage assigned to your local golf courses. In keeping with the philosophy of Bobby Jones, all par 5 holes (believe it or not) are (under the right conditions) reachable in two strokes with two perfect shots. If any, or all, are not perfect shots you will pay dearly, either putting the ball into a sand trap or water, or worse - OUT OF BOUNDS ! - Beecham C.C.'s Blue course is the first course of a five course complex. 3 will be championship par 72 courses. 1 will be a short course (Par 68) and the last will be a 18 hole par 3 course. So have fun with This course and watch for future courses where you found this one. Good Luck, Mike Vos. P.S. Thanks to Jay Johnson (Jaybird) for the use of some of your very well designed trees. And also to Phil McCloud for some well aimed design flaws from some of my previous courses. If you would like to see some of Jay or Phil's courses you may download them from Compuserve or Accolade's BBS.
