------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JACK NICKLAUS' GREATEST 18 HOLES OF MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Resculptured by Robert Shelden (JNUG-VGA) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While I have always liked the game of golf (as a spectator only), I've only become obsessed within the last few months. My obsession began when I rented the laserdisc,"Jack Nicklaus Shows You the Greatest 18 Holes of Major Championship Golf". I had never realized the different nuances of the game before, and I became "hooked". I bought JNUG for my PC so that I could recreate famous holes to play whenever I wanted. A little while later, I purchased the original Jack Nicklaus Greatest 18, and was a bit dismayed to find that the lay of the land wasn't recreated right on some of the holes. For example, the eighth at Pebble Beach features a second shot (Jack's favorite) off of a bluff, over the ocean, and onto the green. But on the computer version, there is no bluff. So the hole is boring - not to mention wrong. I then decided to resculpt the Greatest 18 to get it as close as I could to look like the original holes. The task turned out to be a greater job than I had guessed. It took me the better part of a month to recreate the holes to my satisfaction. Even now, I don't feel as though the course is just right, and I occasionally update what I have when I discover some new pictures or such of one of the holes. One night I was getting frustrated playing the Accolade game,"SEARCH FOR THE KING", and I decided to log-on to the Accolade Bulletin Board for some clues to help me along. While on the bulletin board, I was suprised when I discovered all of the JNUG courses to download. I was especially pleased to find such courses as Cypress Point,Augusta(both by Scott Chesney-highly recommended.),and Pine Valley. Because of the joy I have had playing these and other courses, I decided to share some of my creations. This is the first that I am uploading, and I hope that some of you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed some of your work. Thank you all for sharing your wonderful work. P.S.- Please feel free to drop me a line. Sincerely, Robert Shelden Accolade I.D.- Treborfrg -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
