Welcome to Laytonsville Public Golf Course. It is located in Laytonsville Maryland, north of Olney off of Route 108 on Dorsey Rd. Maryland boasts of many fine golf courses Congressional, Avennel, Pine Ridge, Swan Point, Baltimore Country Club, Hogs Neck; Laytonsville ain't one of them.  While creating the course I keep looking for objects like crab grass, bare spots, dead trees and stumps to make it more realistic. 

I am the second alternate on a regular Sunday morning foresome. I never pass up a chance to play it. The wide open holes reward you with good scores and the people who play it don't take the game that seriously. The foresome who plays in front of us never keeps score, the object of their round is to see who can gross out who. Along with the wind and speed of the greens this is just one more factor to take into account. 

Gus "the starter" must be paid by how many foresomes start in a day. I believe very strongly in fast play but, I don't think hitting into a group that is 150 yards always is the right method of speeding the game up. You notice I didn't mention how many finish.

Beer on the course is encouraged and a condition of play for first timers. It may not help your game, but will put you in the proper mental attitude to play at Laytonsville.

To play this course in its most normal condition go to the mens tee, set liitle wind and dry conditions. There is no championship tees and some made off with the blues.
The greens at  Laytonsville are fast but true.

This is my first effort in designing a course, so be kind and don't laugh to much. If you have played here before please feel free to make changes that make it more realistic.
