This is my fifth course for the JNSE game. The course plays a par of 73, with a rathar unorthodox arrangement of holes upon the course. The adjacent fairways are not exact to the currently existing holes since they were done by completing the course layout, putting the holes on the plot, deleting all of the holes, and rerouting the holes over the holes now on the plot. Some redesign work following these steps was done to try to make the overheads consistent, and each hole hade to be redone since re-routing annoyingly uses the default layout over the plot based upon the holes centerline. To others who have done adjacent fairways this may seem like the long way of doing it, but it worked, and it was easier for me than using transparencies and Vis-a-Vis pens to trace each hole (similar technique to that described by P. Conrad for using acetate markers.) The course itself was designed in the manner of a resort course, for use by the average golfer who is either on vacation, a golf holiday, or out for enjoyment. Because of this philosophy being used, the course is not extremely difficult. It is challenging so that it should provide an enjoyable experience to golfers of all levels: beginner or pro. Dedicated golfers can expect lower scores than occasional players. The course yielded scores ranging from -12 (Computer Jack N.) to +15 during playtest by computer and human players. The median score for 120 rounds was 72 with a mean score of 74. A few quick notes about the holes. The course is most difficult in high winds, regardless of green conditions. Dry weather typically leads to better scores on all holes except 3, 15, and 18. Two holes have non-contiguous alternate greens. The qutoes are about the resort, or features near the resort, not how to play the holes. That is left for your own discovery. The background for this course was done by myself. Objects, however, are from Gene Rodriguez III object files available on Accolade BBS, Alan Pajari's Bellerive, a few of my own, and from a couple of other JNSE courses. The pallet used is the pallet done by the aforementioned A. Pajari for his rendition of Bellerive CC. I would like to thank all of the people from whom I have borrowed objects for this course. Other JNSE Courses completed: Adams' Apple (under revision?) Krista Lakes (revised) Trieste Banks Bobby Jones Municipal Golf Course (Atlanta, GA) Because of my attempt to finish the publication of a number of scientific research papers, continue my experiments, and prepare to speak at next American Society of Mass Spectrometry Confrence, it seems that I may not have much time to devote to course design over the next few months. However, I still appreciate comments and criticism of the work that I have done, and suggestions of what you would like to see in the future. As for the probably horrendus background and for my use of previously constructed objects, I apologize. I'm not a very good artist...
