COURSE: Par-A-Stroka Country Club Designer: Terrell Domek (TED) When I decided to enter the contest I wanted to end up with a course that takes the fantasy of computer golf all the way. Because of this I choose to make a fictitious course that was built in Russia to take advantage of the of the world changing events that have transpired in that country over the last 18-24 months. Because of it's difficulty I would say that it's a tournament course but it also has the personality of a resort course because of it's beautiful location. It is a type of course that can be conquered by those willing to spend some time learning how to play it and that was my chief goal. I wanted to end up with a course that would take more than good reflexes to play, a course that requires some thought! I choose a mountain terrain setting because, in my opinion, that type of terrain offers the most challenge and the most options in course design. I wanted a course that "JOHN DOE" would download and play and then tell his friend that he should get it and play it. In starting the course I figured there were 4 things that were an absolute must in order to achieve my goals: 1.) Start out with a good background 2.) start out with good objects 3.) Pay "CLOSE" attention to detail 4.) TIME In achieving the first two I spent untold time checking various BBS's looking for the exact background and objects that I needed and I finally found what I was looking for (my hat goes off the unknown people who made the background and objects, they are true computer artists). The third objective was realized simply by playing the designed holes over and over again, using the instant replay and different views until each individual hole could be viewed from almost any angle without seeing any errors in terrain, object placement, or color etc. To play the course well a person will have to play it more than once and may even have to take a few notes for the next time he/she plays. When (if) a person finally conquers it I hope that it will leave a sense accomplishment. Finally, I hope it's a course that no matter how well you play, it will be fun and VISUALLY EXCITING the first time and the 100th time. ENJOY!!!!!!!
