Master DungeonHelper Program (v 2.0) 13 Jan 89 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) This program is a distillation of several previous programs I've written. These include DMSASTPR.BAS & DMSASTSC.BAS. These two progams have been integrated, the dice roller function separated out, a spell generator added, and the whole combined under a master program. Also, the iIllusionist class has been added. These programs are mostly helpful if there is a nearby computer available during actual play. This is because they allow the DM to spend more time on the role-playing and less time on the dice rolling (for encounters or otherwise). 2) This program now has four functions: A) Roll Dice = These dice may be infinite in number, with an infin- ite number of sides and an infinite modifier. However, it is recommended, for the purpose of speed in processing, that none of these numbers be larger than "100" (unless, of course, one of the gods is tossing blue bolts at one of the characters). B) Generate Characters = You can pick any of the nine normal classes that you desire (fighter, ranger, paladin, thief, assassin, cleric, druid, mage or illusionist); plus, two new classes are inluded (houri and psionic). You are not restricted by stat rolls because these are made to conform to the class choice rather than vice-a-versa. You will have a chance to review all relevant information before deciding whether or not to keep the character. Once you decide to keep the character, you will be given the CHOICE of outputting the character to the screen (for hand-copying) or to your printer (to save the hassle of hand- copying). ======================================================================= TWO NEW CLASSES!!! The text files included in this package contain two new classes: the psionic and the houri. The psionic is self-explanatory. Initially, the class is very weak. But, as the psionic character progresses in experience, great power is attained. This class was designed by myself. The houri is a sub-class of thieves. They use charms to seduce their victims, then they rob them. They can participate in dungeon adventures, but they are severely limited in such situations. This class was devised by some friends of mine about eight years ago. I've cleaned it up, edited it and, essentially, made it playable. ======================================================================= C) Generate Spells = You can now generate a list of spells for any of the above spell-casting classes. Psionics are included although they, technically, don't cast spells. However, they do have a range of variable abilites similar to spell-casters so, for convenience's sake, they have been included in this program. D) I am working on additional programs for hand-to-hand combat between monks and for monster generation. These will be added at a later date. 2) These programs were written in GW-BASIC, and should be compatible with both clones and IBM's. They were saved with the ",A" added to their filename so they should (might?) be able to run on other computers also. I make no guarantees as to that. 3) The ARC file should contain the following files: mdhp-a-p.bas, mastmenu.bas, chargen.bas, roller.bas, spellgen.bas, houri.txt and psionic.txt. 4) Load "MDHP-A-P.BAS" 5) Run . 6) Follow instructions. 7) Have fun! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Updates, and new programs in the same vein, will be, eventually, forthcoming. Once again, this is compilation & modification of some previous programs I've written; so, if you have any questions, comments or suggestions please route them to: Preston V. McMurry III NAU Box 9834 Flagstaff, AZ 86011 Or, some time in January, contact the "Devil's Advocate BBS" via netmail (maybe, I'm still working on THAT!). ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ALSO AVAILABLE: GPTALES.ARC (sword story).
