Since getting Sublogic's FLIGHT ASSIGNMENT: A.T.P. in Feburary, 1991 I'd been using a steno pad as a sort of pilot's logbook to record pertinent information for each career flight as well as flight and career standing scores. FAATP.LOG was inspired by and loosely derived from Richard Walls' TRIP.TXT form which is included with his CF-EDIT program (available in Compuserve's FSFORUM's Lib 3). Richard's TRIP.TXT form is excellent and and very detailed. You may actually prefer it to mine. My needs are not that specific, however, so I took it's basic form to design a logsheet more appropriate to my needs. The result is FAATP.LOG which provides for all the information I formerly use to record in the steno pad. FAATP.LOG may be printed using any Epson compatible printer. Before printing, however, be sure to set your printer up for Standard Compressed mode. Otherwise the form, which is wider than 80 columns, won't come out right. Also, to properly position the form on the paper, you may need to shift the paper in your printer as far to the left as it will go. The form is fairly self explanatory. However, the "Conditions" area refers to the conditions at your destination, not your point of departure. "A/C Weights" refer to your plane's takeoff weights only. The "Comments" area can be used to record those things you were downgraded for on a flight. FAATP.LOG is released to the public domain. Feel free to modify it as you see fit to suit your needs. Comments and suggestions are welcome. Enjoy! --Scott Miller CIS ID# 75116,165
