DNIEPER RIVER CROSSING In October 1943, the Russian Army forced several crossings of the Dnieper River, which forced the Germans to step up air attacks against the Soviet bridgeheads. Lt. K.A. Yevstigneyev, commander of the 240th Fighter Air Regiment, made a name for himself by shooting down 12 German aircraft in nine sorties over the hotly contested airspace. He later ended the war with 56 victories, and twice a winner of the Gold Star, Hero of the Soviet Union. MISSION You must stop the German fighter/bombers from attacking the tenuous bridgehead over the Dnieper River. Consider this mission a success if 4 or less buildings are destroyed in the target area. NOTES This is a normal day mission SCENARIO DESIGNED BY Gregory M. "Sturmer" Smith x
