SCHLACTGESCHWADER 9

On 8 July 1943 Captain Bruno Meyer led
his newly equipped Geschwader to
intercept a Russian brigade-strength
counterattack against the II SS
Panzerkorps.  The IV(Pz)SG 9 had 4
squadrons, each with 16 brand new Hs129B-
2s.  The four squadrons attacked the
Russian armor relentlessly, causing heavy
casualties.  Accompanying FW190s attacked
the Russian infantry with AP bombs.
The "tank-buster" aircraft had proved
their worth.

MISSION

You must destroy at least 6 "tanks"
(represented by individual flak guns) in
the designated target area.  If you
cannot stop this Russian tank attack the
II SS Panzerkorps will be in for a long
day.  Destroy any other targets (which
represent Russian bunkers) in the target
area as well.

NOTES

This is a day mission.  For historical
accuracy, the 30mm MK103 should be
selected as the antitank weapon.
