BREAKTHROUGH AT KHOTINEZ

By 19 July 1943, a Russian armored
brigade had broken through the lines and
had reached a vital road junction near
Khotinez.  This critical situation was
not ignored by the Germans, who threw
every available Gruppe against the
Russians.  The onslaught by Captain
Bruno's Hs129s and Oberstleutnant
Kupfer's Stukas scattered and destroyed
the Soviet armor.

MISSION

You must destroy at least 6 of the
"tanks" (represented by individual flak
guns around the target area) in order to
consider this mission a success.  If you
don't stop the Russian armor, the Kursk
offensive might turn into another
Stalingrad.

NOTES

Watch out for the Russian fighters,
because even though they are novices,
they are plentiful.  Ammunition
conservation may become important.  To
historically represent this scenario, you
should choose the 30mm MK103 as your
optional weapon for tankbusting.
