KORSUN POCKET

On 4 February 1944, the Germans made a
strong effort to relieve their forces
trapped in the "Korsun Pocket."  The
relief column fought to open a path to
the trapped army group, while Luftwaffe
Ju-52s ran resupply missions.  The
Russian 2nd Air Army made every effort to
destroy incoming air transports, while
the 5th Air Army concentrated on ground
support to the troops who were attempting
to crush the Germans in the pocket.

                MISSION

Defend the Ju-52 transports (represented
by the He-111s) from the incoming Yak9Ds.
Remember, the soldiers in the pocket are
depending on these supplies to assist in
the breakout.  Consider this mission a
victory if 2 of the 3 transports arrive
at the destination base.

                 NOTES

 Since this is a winter mission,
SNOWMAN.PAC should be used to replace
VGA.PAC for the ground graphics.
