The Heinkel He111H-16 Bomber There are some strange visual effects you will notice with these He111 files in SWOTL, such as planes flying sideways or bottom first. These are due to the slight differences in the programs and the PAC files. The overall effect looks quite good and is effective. The HE111s will appear in black and gray instead of the usual two-tone green and blue of the planes in SWOTL. Again this is due to the differences between BOB and SWOTL. The new HE111.EXP file has been created using the information from the book "Warplanes of the Third Reich" by William Green. My 20 year old copy was published by Doubleday publishing, but I think it is now published by a new company. My He111.EXP file models an He111H-16, which could carry 32x 110 lbs bombs, or 8x 551 lbs bombs internally. Since the Heinkel did not have a tail gunner or either of the cheek guns near the nose the ammunition for these locations was removed. The He111H-16 had a 20mm MG FF cannon mounted in the nose for the gunner instead of the usual 7.9mm MG. This weapon is particular devastating on Allied aircraft in SWOTL. The top electro-mechanical turret and the belly gunner position had 13mm MG151 guns and the two waist positions had standard 7.9mm MGs in a twin (or "Zwillig") configuration. The ammunition amounts for the nose, top turret, belly gunner, and two waist positions have altered to reflect historically correct amounts. The cruising speed of the HE111 has been altered to reach 205 mph with either no bombs on board or the lighter 110 lbs bombs. The stall speed has been lowered to compensate for the use of two engines in this conversion and seems to balance out the relative lack of power this model has when it gets heavily damaged in combat. Maximum speed values have been changed to reflect a top possible speed of 256 mph at full power and empty. The entire range of speed bytes have been altered from the B17 originals. Hope you all enjoy my new modified plane.
