Welcome to Paul Conrad's Aotearoa Bay Golf for Jack Nicklaus Golf -
Signature Edition!  Set in a hypothetical bay of Lake Rotorua on North
Island, this version is a major revision to the original course
which was the first place winner in the March, 1991 Compuserve/Accolade
design contest.  Reworking for SE has made it possible to give a new
quality to the background and objects.  The background still shows the
Maori war canoes racing and the Maori meeting hall, as well as sheep
grazing on the grassy hillsides.  And yes, some of those sheep do wander out
on the fairways much as they actually do in New Zealand.

Since I am obviously a big fan of the Islands I hope I brought to you some
of the beauty and enjoyment you could find there.  I've introduced a number
of the attractions in the hole quotes and these are different from those
in the original course.  This version has more alternate greens than the
original contest entry and is set up to have a unique 5-day tournament
event with new pin shots each day.  Yes, I know some of the greenlets are
tiny, requiring laying-up or careful shots.  Par here will be well-earned.

Birds, sheep, the pins, and trees have moved quite a bit from their original
locations.  Some new objects have been added and objects reworked to
improve their appearance in JNSE.  The dithering seen in objects at close
range has forced some of the sheep to step away.  I have invoked the heavy
rough option at appropriate locations and you'll occasionally see the red-
topped out-of-bounds stakes at the hole perimeters.  Be careful around them.

The tee shot from the championship tee at the 15th is one of the most
beautiful created so far, and the signature-hole 18th is just as tough
as ever.
