************************ LAST MINUTE INSTRUCTIONS ************************ This entire program was written in Microsoft Quick Basic, Amazed ? Due to QB's poor joystick routines, there is no joystick support. The keyboard input however, should be fine for all game players. It will accomodate lefties and righties as well. The game speed is setup for a PC Compatible 25MHZ machine. When the game begins, you may go to the options screen by pressing 'O'. This will give you the opportunity to slow the game speed down or speed it up, depending on your machine. A speed setting of 35 is good for 25mhz, a setting of 50 is good for a 33mhz. Just use the stars in the background as a guide. They should move along at a smooth quick pace. This game will NOT run well on a slower XT style machine. It will be very bumpy and awkward. Hopefully whatever board or service you got this from they were kind enough to include this information in the description section. This is my first game that I included CGA support. There should be two EXE files, FORTVGA for VGA and MCGA displays, and FORTCGA for CGA only displays. There should also be two files labeled STBK.CGA and STBK.VGA which are the graphics data files. I hope you enjoy this game. I believe it is far superior to my first game; Galactic Food Fight. This game is considerably faster and definitely more challenging. If you liked the old ASTEROIDS type games, you'll have a good time with this. My next two projects are as follows: A game with grey scale scanned pictures, and a commercial scale package for folks with no programming knowledge to be able to make their own games (Yes, it's been done on other computers, but not PC's). Instructions for playing the game are included when you run the program. Please show your support for great programs like this and go to sleep at night with a clean conscience - Won't you send a contribution to the author ? Details are in the game. ENJOY !!!
