OVERVIEW OF ITALIAN PLUS! ------------------------- Italian Plus! is an educational program that works as both a tutorial and a testing program. The program is divided into three comprehensive sections: Vocabulary Review, Vocabulary Exercises, and Verb Conjugation Exercises. In the Demo Version several of the menu options have been disabled, but they are fully functional in the full version. In addition, the vocabulary in the demo version is limited to approximately 35 words. The full version of Italian Plus! comes with a combination of over 800 nouns, adjectives, and commonly used verbs, conjugated in four tenses. In order to make this program compatible with as many systems as possible, accent marks have not been included. It is reccomended that a student use an Italian dictionary along with the Italian Plus! program when memorizing vocabulary. The Demo version consist of the following files: DEMOADJ DBF ORDER FRM README TXT DEMONOUN DBF DEMONUM DBF DEMVERB DBF DEMO EXE The program can run from either a floppy disk drive, or you can install it on a hard drive by copying all of the program files into a single directory. Vocabulary Review ----------------- This section is intended to introduce the user to important Italian Vocabulary words. Nouns is presented in four forms: Singular, Plural, and Partative. Adjectives are given in both singular and plural format, and their usual position (either before or after the modified noun) is explained. The section on prepositions explains the use of the preposition and how they combine with articles to form contractions. Verb review shows the conjugation of verbs in four tenses (the demo shows only three of the tenses.) Vocabulary Exercises -------------------- The exercise section tests how well you has memorized the vocabulary in the Review section. The exercises are generated in a random fashion to ensure that you has an understanding of the various uses of a word in varying contexts. Because of its random nature, the program may prompt for some unusual word combinations! The important thing is that you understand the grammatical structure. Verb Conjugation ---------------- Like the vocabulary, the verb conjugations are selected at random in each tense category.
