BOCA RATON, FL (June 1, 1992) - SyDOS, a division of SyQuest Technology,
today announced a new line of removable cartridge disk drives and host
adapter kits expanding market opportunities and at the same time cut
prices by as much as $230 on the current product line. In addition to the
current SyDOS product line of "bundled" Value Pack solutions, SyDOS has
announced a strategy of unbundling removable cartridge disk drives and
Host Bus Adapter Kits to better meet the needs of customers who require
customized solutions for removable storage. SyDOS offers removable storage
solutions to the PC and compatibles marketplace and all SyDOS products are
Windows 3.1 compatible.

The unbundled product line will allow users to customize their storage
solution by purchasing a SyDOS drive and cartridge separately from a
complete line of SyDOS Host Bus Adapter Kits. SyDOS has now entered new
markets with a Parallel Port Adapter Kit, Enhanced Performance 16-bit Kit,
and a Novell's Software Driver Kit for Novell v.3.1 and higher. These are
very critical market niches for removable products.

who require more than what an 8-bit adapter provides and allows any SyDOS
drive to be used with ATs and compatibles running DOS or Windows. The
Novell Software Driver Kit will allow SyDOS drives to be used under Novell
Netware v.3.1 and higher. For Netware users who require easy, high speed
back up or removable storage, SyDOS drives now offer the ideal solution.
These new product offerings answer very specific needs in the PC market
for compatibility and connectivity."

The new unbundled product line will allow PC users to configure their
system with a 44MB or 88MB removable cartridge disk drive and a choice of
the SyDOS Host Adapter that matches their needs. Available in internal and
external models, SyDOS unbundled drives offer a custom solution for
virtually any PC or compatible. The external drive subsystem includes:
drive, cartridge, hardware manual, and an external slim-line enclosure.
The internal drive subsystem includes: drive, cartridge, hardware manual,
and internal mounting hardware and cabling.

SyDOS's complete line of Host Adapter Kits are designed to work hand in
hand with SyDOS drives. The newest product offerings, the Parallel Port
Kit, the Enhanced Performance 16-bit Kit, and the new Novell Software
Driver Kit complement the existing line of Host Adapters. These include
the High Performance 16-bit Kit with a Bus Mastering adapter which
supports DOS, Windows, and advanced operating systems including OS/2 and
UNIX. The Standard Performance 8-bit Kit allows a low cost connectivity
solution for SyDOS drives and supports DOS and Windows. The Micro Channel
Kit allows PS/2 Micro Channel users easy attachment to SyDOS drives. The
SyDOS Host Adapter Kits include: SyDOS host bus adapter, Windows-like
installation software, software manual, and cabling.

SyDOS has also changed the packaging of the entire product line to be a
"complete selling solution" with specifications, features, benefits and
applications of the product indicated on the boxes for the benefit of
customers. Packaging leads the customers to select other SyDOS Host
Adapter and Accessory Kits along with their SyDOS drive.

SyDOS will still offer customers the bundled Value Pack line of 44MB and
88MB removable cartridge disk drives in internal, external or dual
configurations at reduced prices. The Value Pack comes with everything a
user needs in a "one box" solution. The Value Pack is ideal for PC users
with standard systems who want to purchase everything they need in one box
at a new low cost. The suggested list for the external 44MB SyDOS Value
Pack has dropped by $186 to $799 while the 88MB external Value Pack list
price dropped $230 to $999.

desktop publishing, graphics, and multi-media. They are also ideal for
high-speed file backup and restore operations working in conjunction with
fixed disk drives, and can be used as a bootable system disk should the
fixed disk drive fail. SyDOS removable cartridge disk drives offer the

drive and a five year warranty on the SyQuest cartridge.
