processing of clients' quotes preparation and generation of requests for
quote for distributors.

There are many accounting packages in the market for successful
accomplishment of order processing, inventory control, billing, etc., but
generally, there is a lack of an efficient handling of quotations. The
purpose of TRADING QUOTE is to fill this gap.

TRADING QUOTE is a multicompany program that efficiently generates
quotations and requests for quotes, with the possibility of consolidating
several clients' quote inquiries into one or more requests for quote for
one or more distributors, respectively. Then, suitable ready-to-send
printout formats either for clients' quotes or requests for quote for
distributors can be produced with no need of preprinted forms.

The program keeps track of pending clients' quotes, as well as of pending
distributors' quotes. Along with this, it is provided a quotation history
for any item, in reverse chronological order, so the last given prices to
clients, received costs from distributors, quantities ordered, etc. are
shown first.

While recording a request for quote, endless item descriptions, notes and
comments can be entered. If a markup percentage was optionally assigned to
an item in order to establish its desired profit percentage, then once the
item cost is filled, the item price is automatically calculated,
characteristic enhanced by the possibility of seeing the total amount and
the margin at any time when working with a quote.

At any moment passwords may be assigned to users, controlling access to the
program functions.

TRADING QUOTE offers the advantage of profiting the users' existing
investment for those who have a database accounting system written in
dBase like language. Thanks to the linking option, it can access to the
current clients, vendors/distributors and items information from the
accounting system. Three degrees of linking to the accounting system
causes three modes of operation, according to the users' needs: totally
linked (the quotation system Is automatically updated with accounting
information); periodically refreshed (the quotation system is periodically
updated with item, vendor and customer data from the accounting system);
totally independent (the quotation system operates as a stand alone
system).

Finally, the use of state-of-the-art technology, with pick lists, windows,
hot keys and menus, backed by FoxPro 2.0, the most powerful database
management system in the market for PCs and PC networks, makes TRADING
QUOTE a friendly, easy-to-use program.

TRADING QUOTE requires IBM PC-AT, PS/2, or compatible computer with a
mandatory hard disk for the case of Single User version, and at least one
floppy disk drive. It runs on PC DOS, or MS DOS Version 3.1 or higher, and
for networks, on NETBIOS and Novell Netware environments. It needs at
least 540K RAM memory to run, but available memory over the minimum will
significantly improve performance. On 386-based machines with at least
2MB, optimum performance is achieved running the extended version of the
program. In addition, it requires 5.5 MB of free disk space.
