ROSLYN, NEW YORK, June 8, 1992 - - - Cheyenne Software, Inc. (AMEX:CYE),
creators of ARCserve, announced today that the company is the first to
develop and market a single NctWare storage management application that
incorporates the benefits of SMS (Storage Management Services) while
maintaining Cheyenne's existing approach to comprehensive storage
management and backup. Cheyenne is the only vendor currendy offering one
application to provide backup and restore services for: NetWare 2.x, 3.x,
and Portable NetWare servers; DOS, Windows, Macintosh, Unix, and OS/2
clients; all name space support provided with NetWare 3.11 including
Macintosh, DOS, NFS, OS/2, and FTAM.

Recently named a Novell Co-Devdoper, Cheyenne also reported that an
optional software module for ARCserve v4.0, that complics with Novell's
SMS specifications, is now available to ARCserve 4.0 users. SMS defines a
standard method for backup products to interact with NetWare. This
software module will insulate ARCserve users from changes made by Novell
in future releases of the NetWare file system. In addition, Cheyenne
announced that ARCserve v4.0 has received certification and has been
tested and approved NetWare compatible as a Backup System with NetWare
v2.2 and v3. 11.

SMS was developed by Novell to provide an opn, standardized architecture
that can be employed by third party software developers, such as Cheyenne,
that will easily facilitate the process of updating backup applications
when Novell releases new versions of NetWare 3.x.

In making the announcement Jim McNiel, Vice President of Business
Development for Cheyenne, stated, "SMS has provided Cheyenne with the
final element needed to solidify ARCserve's ability to provide complete
backup and restore services in a heterogeneous networking environment.
Using ARCseNe, a NetWare administrator needs to purchase only one backup
software product and one tape, jukebox or optical drive, to obtain
automated backup and restore services for virtually all computers
connected to the NetWare LAN."

Cheyenne is shipping the optional SMS compliant software module directly to
registered users, at a U.S. Iist cost of $ 100.00. In addition to
ARCserve's inherent ability to backup DOS and Macintosh name spaces on a
3.11 file server, this software option will enable ARCserve users to
backup and restore HPFS, FTAM and NFS name spaces.

Cheyenne recently expanded the capabilities of ARCserve for NetWare 3.1x to
include backup and restoration of SCO UNIX System V/386 Release 3.2 and
Macintosh workstations on the network. The company now offers Agent
Options for Unix and Macintosh workstations to ARCserve users, rounding
out ARCserve's support for all major operating systems -available in the
PC marketplace. These Agents are available as separate optional packages
at a U.S. list cost of $495.00 each per server. ARCserve also currently
includes support for DOS, OS/2 and Windows client workstations.
