SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA--METALSOFT introduces its all new version of
FabriCAM, NC programming software for the 90's. FabriCAM has been
completely rewritten because advancements in software technology have
rendered programming language of just a few years ago obsolete. With all
the new improvements, FabriCAM exemplifies the latest in technological
development.

The new features make FabriCAM easier to use and much more time-efficient.
State-of-the-art, object-oriented technology was used in conjunction with
C++ programming language which provides many benefits. These benefits
include faster updates, fewer bugs, easy maintainability and easier
transfer of code to operating systems such as Windows, OS/2 and UNIX. Part
development and sheet layout are now combined to eliminate unnecessary
switching back and forth to edit parts with changes. When one part on the
sheet is changed, all identical parts on the same sheet are also changed.
Users can also place patterns anywhere on sheets before or after parts are
placed on the same sheets.

Dimensioning can now be accomplished in sheet layout whereas it was only
possible in part development in prior versions. Sheet layout also provides
for part rotation at any angle compared to the standard rectangular
rotation of 90 degrees in the past--a feature that's especially useful for
laser cutting applications.

Now that the 64OK memory barrier has been overcome, memory limitations are
almost non-existent. The number of patterns that can exist on a part or
sheet are virtually unlimited. The foundation is also laid for future
enhancements as well.

The new FabriCAM is, without a doubt, one of the most important additions
to METALSOFT's growing list of products developed to efficiently
computerize the sheet metal fabrication shop. METALSOFT has written NC
programs for over 200 different punching and cutting machines and will
continue to write programs for all new machines to be developed in the
future.
