of the Microsoft Window (MS-Windows) version of SIMULINK, a highly
interactive and intuitive computer-aided engineering tool for the
simulation of nonlinear dynamic systems. Previously known as SIMULAB,
SIMULINK was recently renamed to reflect The MathWorks' intent to build
upon the SIMULINK/MATLAB open architecture and offer expanded solutions
that leverage the simulation, modeling, analysis, and design capabilities
in the current product line. SIMULINK's ability to be easily "linked" or
integrated with other products forms the foundation for a wide range of
tailored and integrated simulation solutions.

SIMULINK is targeted at electrical, mechanical, chemical, aerospace, and
automotive engineering applications and is appropriate for anyone modeling
real-world, time-varying systems. By using industry-standard graphical
user interfaces and windowing systems such as Windows, OSF/Motif, X
Windows and Macintosh, SIMULINK eliminates the need to program in
traditional simulation languages or learn proprietary windowing systems.

Available immediately on Macintosh, 386- and 486-based PCs running MS-DOS
and MS-Windows, Sun SPARCstation, Apollo, DEC VAX/VMX, DEC RISC, and
HP9000/300 and 400 systems, SIMULINK gives users a way to build and test
systems in minutes rather than days.

SIMULINK is a 32-bit program that comes bundled with the MathWorks' popular
MATLAB numeric computation and data analysis software. It takes advantage
of extended and virtual memory, thereby eliminating restrictions on model
size and enabling the modeling and simulation of large or complex models.
Consequently, SIMULINK users on PC platforms will have the power and
flexibility in the system design and analysis process previously offered
only on workstations.

SIMULINK includes a complete set of tools for modeling and analyzing
dynamic systems, including linear, nonlinear, continuous-time,
discrete-time, hybrid, and multirate models. It enables the transfer and
exchange of models between computer platforms. SIMULINK also provides a
flexible environment in which systems can be described graphically in
block diagram form or mathematically by differential and difference
equations.

Users can easily define, analyze, and communicate complex model behavior in
SIMULINK through hierarchical model structures. In addition, on-screen
simulation capabilities enable users to modify system parameters and
solver methods interactively during a simulation and see results
immediately .

A built-in-block library in SIMULINK provides a comprehensive set of
functions and enables users to create new blocks and include existing
models using C, Fortran, or MATLAB code.

SIMULINK for Windows is priced at $3,995 in the U.S. and educational
discounts are available.
