Camarillo, California - - - Advanced Matrix Technology, Inc. (AMT) has
started shipping the first six models of its new AMT Accel-200 Personal
Printers series. Included in the series are the not yet announced AMT
Accel-294 and Accel-292 Personal Printers. The AMT Accel-200 series
printers offer durability and functionality unsurpassed in the low-end
printer market, as well as more features than its competitors. These
features include AMT's user friendly patented SelectDial front panel
interface (described by Byte Magazine as "the slickest interface of all
[dot matrix printers]"). The "200" is available with Apple, Epson, and
IBM/Lexmark emulations, compatibility with virtually all PC software
including MicroSoft Windows 3.1, serial and parallel interfaces, three
paper paths, multi-part forms capabilities, a two-position tractor... the
list continues. Like all AMT products, OEM and end-user customizing is
available.

The new Accel-292 and Accel-294 printers feature two 9-pin print heads.
With dual heads, these printers are able to print at 540 cps; more than
twice the speed of the single head models. The Accel-294 offers 136 column
printing, while the Accel-292 features 85 column printing. The other
models beginning shipment are the AMT Accel-244 (24-pin, 136 column, 240
cps), the AMT Accel-242 (24-pin, 85 column, 240 cps), the AMT Accel-214
(9-pin, 136 column, 240 cps), and the AMT Accel-212 (9-pin, 85 column, 240
cps).

The 85 column "narrow" carriage format is an AMT unique feature. With it,
users can print to the edges of 81/2 inch forms, the American standard.
All foreign made "narrow" carriage printers are limited to 80 column (8
inch) printing, often requiring a user to select the bigger footprint and
more expensive 136 column models just to print an 81/2 inch form.

Designed for personal use, this series is ideal for individual work
stations. Each work station can be outfitted with these affordable
printers, enabling the "main" printer to remain free for large jobs. At
the same time, the quality and strength of the Accel-200 series allows it
to be used for any purpose.

Also newly announced are one and two-bin sheet feeders for the wide
carriage Accel-200 models (294, 244, 214). These sheet feeders are
immediately available and retail priced at $259.00 for the single bin and
$399.00 for the dual bin.

The AMT Accel-200 series of printers are affordably (list) priced from
$469.00 to $895.00, substantially lower than comparable quality printers.
