August 14, 1992 -- Bitstream Inc. today announced the release of the
Bitstream Typeface Library in PostScript Type 1 format for the IBM PC
platform. The Library contains nearly 1,100 professional-quality
typefaces, and is also available for the Macintosh. By bringing its type
library to the PC platform in PostScript format, Bitstream continues its
commitment to providing users with exceptional type selection in the
format of their choice.

Typefaces in the Bitstream Typeface Library (BTL) are fully hinted, and
conform fully to published specifications to ensure optimal output quality
at high and low resolutions, and optimal hardware and software
compatibility. BTL faces can be used with Bitstream FaceLift 2.0 and
Bitstream MakeUp for Microsoft Windows Adobe Type Manager (ATM), and all
applications, printers and imagesetters that support the PostScript Page
Description Language. Installation and Download utilities are also
provided to install typefaces into non-Windows applications such as
WordPerfect 5.1 and Xerox Ventura Publisher.

Customers can order BTL typefaces by calling Bitstream at 800-237-3335.
Each order is custom manufactured and shipped according to customer needs.
US list pricing is as follows: single typeface: $50; two faces: $69; three
faces: $99; four faces: $129. Above four faces, pricing is $32.25 per
face. Volume discounts and flexible site licensing options are also
available.
