RENAISSANCE SOFTWARE TRANSFERS TO KODAK; 
SOON TO READ PHOTO CD IMAGES DIRECTLY

Rochester, NY, & Billerica, MA, July 31-- Eastman Kodak Company and Atex,
Inc., today announced that Renaissance color design software will be
transferred to the CD Imaging organization at Kodak.

Kodak also announced that Renaissance software soon will be able to read
Photo CD images directly from Photo CD discs. The Photo CD system was
introduced this summer to allow picture takers using standard 35 mm
cameras to have their 35 mm negatives and slides transferred to digital
form on Photo CD discs. These discs can be viewed on TV using new Kodak
Photo CD players, or on computers using CD-ROM XA multi-session drives.

Renaissance software, a Macintosh-based color design tool, was developed by
Atex, a Kodak subsidiary, for the graphic design market. Effective August
3, Kodak will assume responsibility for marketing and supporting
Renaissance software, along with its other desktop color imaging software
applications.

Atex will continue to develop, market and support a tailored version of the
software package called Capriccio as a pagination product integrated with
Atex publishing system offerings for newspapers and magazines.

"For some time, we have explored alternate marketing channels for
Renaissance," said Don Hollands, vice president and general manager of
Atex's General Publishing Products Division. "Given the synergy between
Renaissance and Kodak Photo CD products, it makes sense to market those
products within the same product family. We will continue to market
Capriccio in our markets."

"Renaissance design software will be one of several key products in the
Photo CD family," said Georgia McCabe, director of worldwide marketing in
Kodak's CD Imaging organization. "It has received very positive
endorsements from the graphic design market since its introduction in
April."
