LONDONDERRY, NH -- August 17, 1992 -- Panacea Inc. today announced an
aggressive pricing strategy for its new line of TurboDLDClassic and
TurboDLDDeluxe display list processors. The move was cited as a response
to growing demand from dealers and resellers who wish to provide lower
cost AutoCAD software accelerator solutions for their corporate customer
base.

Panacea will offer "Corporate 10-Packs" of the two products, at a cost of
$499 for the TurboDLDClassic and $999 for the TurboDLDDeluxe when the
recently announced products ship in October. Single copy prices for the
two products will be $149 and $249 respectively. Company officials stated
that they intend to offer Corporate 10 Pack pricing on their existing line
of DLD386Classic and DLD386Deluxe display list processors, with free
upgrades to the TurboDLDs as soon as they ship. The Corporate 10 Packs
will be distributed through Panacea's international network of dealers and
resellers, either for resale to corporate customers or for inclusion in
dealer-configured hardware systems. In addition, Panacea will allow
dealers to resell individual copies of the TurboDLDClassic 10-Pack,
enabling street prices for individual copies to drop by as much as 2/3;
and will offer a Corporate 5-Pack of the TurboDLDDeluxe for $649.

According to Jake Richter, Chief Technologist at Panacea, "Our resellers
have seen a rapidly increasing demand for our recently announced line of
TurboDLD software accelerators. This new pricing policy will enable them
to offer far more flexible computing solutions for their corporate
customers, be it software bundled with hardware or resold directly. At the
same time, new users will be able to realize the benefits of display list
processing with an entry-level product like the Classic for a mere $49."

Panacea's TurboDLDClassic and TurboDLDDeluxe boast up to 4X faster speed
than Panacea's existing AutoCAD drivers in ZOOM, PAN, and REDRAW
operations, resulting in performance up to 25X faster than AutoCAD by
itself. In addition, the two products incorporate special optimization
techniques which enable a single version of TurboDLD to work with
virtually any graphics standard or platform, and allows installation and
configuration modifications from within the AutoCAD environment.
TurboDLDClassic and TurboDLDDeluxe work with AutoCAD Release 12, 3D Studio
Version 2.0, AutoShade 2 with RenderMan, and is backward compatible with
AutoCAD Release 11 and Release 10/386, plus 3D Studio Version 1.0. In
addition to supporting EGA, VGA, SuperVGA, S3, TIGA, XGA, and 8514/A
adapters, the TurboDLDs provide full compatibility with Compaq's QVision
family of graphics adapters, as well as a number of 24-bit VGA boards,
including products from Cardinal, Diamond, and Everex.

The TurboDLDDClassic includes "The Big Picture," a movable and sizable
"bird's eye" view of the current AutoCAD drawing with the active editing
area highlighted. The TurboDLDDeluxe builds on the Classic version by
offering real-time panning, pop-up menus, a ZoomPreview spyglass, a
drawing viewer, and fully reconfigurable digitizer buttons.
