Software Update: ABBREVIATOR Version 2.1

ABBREVIATOR by HiPerSoft Systems is a memory resident utility designed to
expand user defined abbreviations into a string of up to 1,760 characters.
The abbreviation expansion is presented to the application system as if
the characters were typed in at the keyboard.

ABBREVIATOR can be used to:

- Manage standard information, such as name and address data, with uniform
access to the same information from different application systems.

- "Paste" common phrases or paragraphs in word processing systems with the
additional benefit of using the same abbreviation across different word
processing systems.

- Build abbreviation expansions to issue a series of DOS commands to setup
the DOS environment, initiate an application system, and then communicate
to the application system. ABBREVIATOR includes a DOS menu system that
will initiate application systems with a single keystroke.

- Develop regression testing keyboard scripts for the verification of
application program changes.

The ability to present information to multiple environments from a single
abbreviation is a unique and powerful feature of ABBREVIATOR. And because
ABBREVIATOR is memory resident, abbreviations are universally available to
any application system from any environment.

ABBREVIATOR requires an IBM or compatible PC using DOS 2.0 or higher.
Resident memory requirements are: 2,592 bytes for the software module,
1,296 bytes for the optional menu system, and up to 64k for the
abbreviation table. The size of the abbreviation table is dependent on the
number and size of the abbreviations defined. A CGA, EGA, MCGA, VGA, or
equivalent video adapter is required.
