ARTISOFT BROADENS EUROPEAN DISTRIBUTION OF GERMAN VERSIONS OF THE LANTASTIC LOCAL AREA NETWORK Artisoft Signs Distributors in Austria, Germany and Switzerland To Carry Localized Versions (TUCSON, Ariz.--August 25, 1992)--Artisoft announced today that its German versions of the LANtastic Local Area Network and other products are now available through six distributors throughout Austria, Germany and Switzerland. These distributors carry all Artisoft products, including the German versions of the LANtastic Local Area Network, LANtastic Starter Kits, adapters, Software Kits and upgrades. BC Communications in Switzerland, one of the newest distributors to be signed, serviced and supported Artisoft products prior to being signed on as an official distributor in May 1992. BC Communications maintains a staff of over 18 people and specializes in the communications market. In addition to the German versions, BC Communications also carries French and Italian versions of Artisoft products. "The number of German-speaking consumers in the networking market is quickly growing, and we are committed to supporting them," commented Mac McKinley, Artisoft's Director of European Sales & Marketing. "The growth of our German distributors will undoubtedly fill a need that is very great." Also servicing the German market in Switzerland is Swizzi Computer and Merisel Switzerland. Swizzi Computer also serviced and supported Artisoft products before becoming an official distributor in January 1992. Merisel Switzerland, a broad-based distributor with 1,500 dealers, was signed on by Artisoft last month. In Germany, Artisoft products are distributed through two distributors, Microware and Merisel DNS. Microware has been carrying Artisoft's product line since October 1988, and distributes through 150 dealers in four regional sales offices. Merisel DNS, a subsidiary of Merisel USA, is a broad-based distributor with 6,000 dealers. Artisoft signed on Merisel DNS as an official distributor in March 1992. Artisoft products can also be found in Austria at Cotronic Computer Electronic, which signed on as an Artisoft distributor in May 1991.
