BUSLOGIC INTRODUCES NEW 32-BIT BUS MASTER EISA ETHERNET ADAPTER WITH 3-IN-1

New Adapter Supports 10Base-T, Thick or Thin Ethernet

SANTA CLARA, Calif., September 15, 1992 -- BusLogic Inc., formerly BusTek
Corp., a premier supplier of network controllers, Small Computer Systems
Interface (SCSI) bus master host adapters and disk array software, today
introduced the BT-763E, a 32-bit bus master EISA-based ethernet adapter
with 3-in-1 media support.

The BT-763E's design makes it possible for integrators and resellers to
choose either 10Base-T (unshielded twisted pair), thick or thin ethernet
cabling as a medium for connecting the adapter to the network. Using a
specially designed configuration file, users can pre-set the BT-763E to
support one of the three cable types. The BT-763E also has two diagnostic
LED's to detect network activity and monitor integrity status. This
provides improved management and troubleshooting capabilities.

The incorporation of BusLogic's proprietary bus master interface into the
BT-763E allows data transfers which are faster and more efficient than
traditional ethernet interfaces and creates minimal CPU intervention. The
33 megabytes per second DMA burst mode transfer of the BT-763E allows EISA
machines to function at maximum speed.

perfect for today's EISA-based file servers and workstations," said David
Bergener, BusLogic's product marketing manager. "This new ethernet adapter
complements our existing high-end products by providing an economical EISA
solution for small and medium sized networks."

The BT-763E ships with software drivers to support NetWare 286 and 386; SCO
Unix release 3.2, versions 2 and 4, and Open Desktop (ODT 2.0);
Interactive Unix release 3.2, version 3; and PC-NFS, PC/TCP and Telnet. It
has a suggested retail price of $549 and is available through BusLogic
authorized distributors and resellers.
