SITKA INTRODUCES JAPANESE VERSION OF 10NET 5.0 

Localized Versions Now Available in Kanji, English, French, Italian,
German, and Spanish

ALAMEDA, Calif., September 8,1992 -- Sitka Corporation, a Sun Microsystems,
Inc. owned-business, today announced a Japanese language version of Sitka
10NET 5.0 the company's peer-to-peer network operating system for DOS and
Windows. The Japanese language version of Sitka 10NET will support most
popular Japanese PC environments, including DOS V, Windows 3.0 and 3.1,
and the NEC PC 9801.

"Sitka has been very successful in Japan, capturing 80 percent of the
Macintosh connectivity market there with its easy-to-use TOPS products for
cross-platform connectivity," said Thomas Pelandini, Sitka's vice
president of worldwide sales and marketing. "With 10NET, our Japanese
customers now have a full featured, easy-to-use network for DOS and
Windows computers plus an easy migration path to OpenTOPS, our next
generation of cross-platform networking solutions."

Sitka, which built a strong international presence by delivering its
SitkaTOPS networking products in 42 countries, introduced French, Italian,
German and Spanish language versions of 10NET 5.0 in July of this year.

Both the 10NET and SitkaTOPS combined installed base of over 1,355,000
users will have an easy migration path to products based on the OpenTOPS
architecture, Sitka's next generation networking technology. OpenTOPS
combines the DOS and Windows capabilities of 10NET with the cross-platform
features of MacTOPS, DosTOPS, SunTOPS and PenTOPS products, providing the
ease-of-use and low-cost of peer networking plus operating system,
platform and protocol independence.
