New Software Utility Lets Users Instantly Print Plain Text Using Scalable
Fonts

September 1, 1992 - Norwich, Vermont - Succinct Systems, Inc. introduced
SizeIt, a new MS-DOS software utility that enables users to quickly and
easily print output from any program that produces ASCII text, using their
printer's built-in scalable fonts.

Through SizeIt's menu-driven interface, users select typeface, pointsize,
page orientation, margins, header size, and other page layout and
formatting options. It handles printer setup commands and automatically
detects column breaks within the text file, restoring their alignment.
This eliminates the need to reformat text or tables, making SizeIt ideal
for printing program and directory listings, spreadsheets, database
reports, and other text files in any pointsize from 3.5 to 27. Users can
print as few as one or as many as two hundred lines per page.

As users experiment with different margins and typesizes, Sizelt calculates
and displays the number of full pages and left-over lines. For text files
that are too wide to fit on one page, such as spreadsheet data, SizeIt
generates output that can be placed side-by-side for easy reading in
either portrait or landscape mode.

Sizelt also offers the only OS/2 solution for plain text printing with the
Canon laser printer's scalable fonts. Users simply "drag and drop" the
text file's icon onto the SizeIt icon for an instant printout.

Sizelt is currently available for Canon LBP-4 and LBP-8 Mark III printers.
A version for Hewlett-Packard LaserJet III models will be released later
this fall. SizeIt may be ordered by sending $54.50 plus $5.00 postage and
