What is SVInstal? 

SVInstal is a Windows program that installs program and data files from a
distribution floppy to a hard drive. These days computer magazines are
full of new and wonderful programming tools to allow you to build new and
wonderful applications. When the application is built and ready to be
sold/installed the developer must write one more application... the
install program. SVInstal is intended to provide a simple to use, simple
to afford solution to the problem of getting you application onto the
user's system.

What does SVInstal do? 

SVInstal performs three major tasks: 

1. Creates directories and copies files into them.
   (supports directory trees and multiple source diskettes)
2. Builds a Windows program group and loads icons. 
3. Presents your 'README.TXT' in a pop-up window.

What does the developer do? 

The developer runs a program to build a data file that will tell
SVINSTAL.EXE what to install where. There is a single screen into which
the developer enters such things as; company name, name for the windows
program group, root directory to create, files to be installed and readme
file name. The developer then includes this data file and SVINSTAL.EXE on
the distribution floppy. That is about all there is to it.
