to find and process duplicate files.

- DFL will find duplicate files by any of these modes:

  Name     - DFL will find files with identical names. 
  Length   - DFL will find files with equal lengths.
  Name1-11 - DFL will find files with the first N matching name letters.
  Dos Path - DFL will search the Path for duplicate executables like DFL.EXE, 
             DFL.BAT & DFL.COM.
  FastAlias- Files  with duplicate contents are found using a 32 bit CRC  and 
             file  length combination. Filenames are ignored. Very fast  with 
             ZIPped files.
  FullAlias- Files with duplicate contents are found using the 32 bit CRC and 
             file length  combination  followed  by  a  byte-by-byte   binary 
             comparison. Filenames are ignored.

             Ex. Sysops find that one of the many uses for the alias modes is 
                 to  find  all  those BBS advertising files  that  have  been 
                 embedded in their archives. It's nice to tag all of them and
                 hit one key to make them go away.

- The files can then be:

  Viewed.
  Deleted.
  Printed.
  Compared in either binary (internal comparison) or ascii (user-customized).
  Tagged and group-deleted.

- You may specify a file mask such as *.* or *.exe.
- DFL will scan multiple drives including network drives.
- The duplicate list can be printed to an ascii file or printer.
- Virtual  Memory  is  created and cached to allow the  processing  of  huge
  numbers  of files. About 1 meg of disk is needed for every 25,000 files.  I
  know  sysops  who've used DFL to scan multiple CDs  totaling  over  130,000
  files without a hitch.
- DFL can be run unattended from a batch file.
- DFL  will  perform  all of the above operations for files in  any  type  of
  archive. Archives are treated as regular directories containing files  that
  are  manipulated by DFL like 'normal' files. DFL can be customized  to  run
  with up to 10 archive compression and extraction systems of your  choosing.

If  you  wish to obtain a personal registered copy, you can do  it  like  any
other  normal user... pay; or you may obtain it free in exchange for  running
the  ad, included as DFLAD.ASC on your board for 30 days. The  ad  should  be
automatically displayed to each user. You don't have to run the ad until  you
receive your registered copy. Here's how:

    1. Call  the support BBS at 408-384-3658 and read bulletin 15 to  see  if
       the promotion has ended with the 1st 50 respondents.
    2. Leave a message to Bill Ataras containing:

      a. The address to send your registered copy.
      b. The number of your BBS with area code.
      c. The name/password I can use to logon and verify the ad.
      d. The type of disk you want (3.5 or 5.25) low density.
