Hungary System requirements: Þ - IBM PC/XT/AT computer Þ - 640 Kbyte memory Þ - CGA, EGA, VGA or HERCULES graphics card Þ - at least 1Mbyte disc space (on hard disk, if possible) Þ - MS-DOS (3.0 or later version) operating system First of all you should create a new directory for the program, for example: Þ - on the C drive Þ - in the PHISICS directory Þ - as PERIDEMO Just type: Þ - C: Þ - CD PHISICS Þ - MD PERIDEMO Þ - CD PERIDEMO Try PKUNZIP.EXE program (1.01 or later version) to unzip the demo file. After using PKUNZIP, the names of the new files will be shown on the screen. When they are ready, the DOS prompt will appear again: Þ C:\PHYSICS\PERIDEMO By this time the system becomes usable. You will be told now, how to use it: You can start the program by typing its name. If the current directory is which the PERIDEMO.EXE and the other necessary files are in, you can simply type Þ PERIDEMO Enter After starting you can control the program by a menu system: Pressing Þ - Up or Down you can position the highlight, Þ - Enter you can choose the highlighted point, Þ - Esc you can go back to the previous menu. To input a string use Þ - Left and Right key to position the cursor Þ - Insert to toggle insert mode Þ - Home and End to go to the end of the string Þ - Enter to accept the text Þ - Esc to leave input Using the HELP you can press Þ - PgUp and PgDn to watch next/previous page Þ - Esc to leave HELP Try DIRECTORY function to look for your files Þ - PgUp and PgDn for pagination Þ - Up and Down to quick-search Þ - Left and Right to position highlight Þ - Enter to choose a file Þ - Esc to leave this option Re-playing a film you can use the following buttons Þ - Up and Down to change the playing speed Þ - Esc to finish re-playing This is only a demonstartion of PERIYODA, so most of the menu points are out of use. When choosing them, a HELP text will appear on the middle of the screen. You can force this HELP for the other points by pressing F1 . The working points are the following: Þ - FILE SERVICES\LOAD MOVIE: for loading a movie file into memory Þ - FILE SERVICES\DIRECTORY: for searching the films Þ - FILE SERVICES\QUIT: for quiting the program Þ - PLAY MOVIE\FROM MEMORY: for playing a film that has been loaded Þ - PLAY MOVIE\FROM FILE: for loading a film and playing it at once All the films given with these programs have been created for EGA (VGA) graphics card, so you will get an error message when playing them on an other one. To be able to play them, they must be converted. The MOVCONV.EXE program will help you, just type the name after the DOS prompt: Þ MOVCONV Enter You will be asked some questions: Þ Input file: the to be converted file Þ Output file: the to be created file (must be different from Þ the previous one) Þ Target graphics card: the type of your graphics card In the DEMO there are also some movie files: WAVE.MOV HOLE.MOV INTERFER.MOV WALL.MOV HYDR2PX.MOV HYDR3DXY.MOV TEAPOT.MOV We hope you will enjoy this program.
