Hypertext:  Creation for others                 <sum10 1 8>
===============================

        Creating good hypertext is hard work that requires skills in:

Skills Decomposition -- breaking information into component parts
====== Analyzing -- understanding the relationships between the parts
           Abstracting -- finding the ideas in each of the parts
           Semantics -- understanding meaning independent of expression
           Generalizing  -- identifying commonalities
           Synthesizing -- assembling component information in new ways
           Patterning -- creating intuitively obvious knowledge formats

        Of course, the process of building hypertext systems does produce
        subject mastery (perhaps a personal goal). The primary reason for
        creating hypertext, however, is to put desired knowledge at the
        fingertips of others <link04>, such as:

           (1) Mentor systems -- guiding new users to desired information
           (2) Coach systems -- providing extra insights whenever needed
           (3) Assistant systems -- user automatically makes additional links

Key Databases require no talent to build and epic talent to use <link26>.
