Information annealing
=====================

        Information annealing is putting a hypertext system on a
        LAN, then using suggestions from each user to modify the
        system until each user can instantly find and understand
        anything they want. The central principles of information
        annealing are:

           (1) Create an initial representation of knowledge
           (2) Use a answering machine to collect suggested improvements
           (3) Make the changes daily to improve the system
           (4) Stop when all easily find/understand the contained knowledge

           Annealing benefits:
                - classification system provides better/faster access
                - text descriptions become more easily understood
                - users acquire a better understanding of relationships
                - knowledge becomes a capital asset instead of a salary expense
                - peer-review annealing reduces mis-information liabilities
                - annealed knowledge flattens organizational structures

        Opportunity: Information value is increased by group organizing efforts
