In order to view the BBS in color you must have located
in your root directory...that is the directory your computer boots up
or starts up from _ the file ( ANSI.SYS ).
Also your ( CONFIG.SYS ) located in your root
directory should have at least these lines of statements

 DEVICE = ANSI.SYS
 FILES = 30
 BUFFERS = 30

There may be additional statements also as your system
requires.
The ( CONFIG.SYS ) file can be edited with a word processor
that can edit ascii files or use the dos editor called edlin.
Even if you do not have a color monitor _ if you have a graphics
card you may still want to enable the ansi feature so you can run
doors that require the ansi driver be installed in your system.
Always make sure your communications program can support
the ansi driver along with the extended ansi codes. Not all
small modem programs do this _ and this will cause a lot of
trash on your screen even if you have the driver enabled.
If you have problems with this _ try the communications
program called TELIX  or QMODEM. Both of these programs support
all extended codes.
