With the exception of bi-focals - a more malevolent, malignant, mis-begotten, be-knighted way to go through life Aunty can hardly conceive - my only admitted claim to old age is a knee that screams when Puck tries to climb surreptitiously onto his mama's lap. Of course as Husband points out the lummock weights 110 pounds and any age knee would hurt. Puck seems to feel that one forty pound head here - a ten pound foot there - all moved slowly and without making eye contact with his daddy will go unnoticed. Husband says Aunty is a perfect Aquarian HUMANITARIAN "shoot 'em all and let God sort 'em out" EDUCATOR " my way is the right way " LOYAL "Amiga owner" Husband isn't allowed to play with my new Pro-Write. Yes just in time to be a special birthday present - Husband couldn't locate a 1953 Pontiac Star-Chief - came the latest and best-est Pro-Write update from New Horizon. I just mailed a proposal the post office-person thought was commercially printed. Nope just me and my nine pin rainbow. Pro-write will now toggle to hi-res so you can use a large type like Times 24 and print out something so readable - so clean - so IMPRESSIVE that even if Aunty's not hired this time her work will be remembered. With the Non-Recession continuing, unless a laser printer I pet in a store follows me home, it will be a while before I can try the built in post script support. New Horizons anticipated most of my wish list left from the last upgrade. Auto-save is now in the program I don't have to rely on Husband's nagging every few minutes. [He here demands credit for being a good nag - rest assured loveys that as a nag he as non-pareil as in most areas.] There are a few things I would like for the next performance boost. Perhaps because I work in a commercial art mode I am designing words more often than writing them and some of my needs are Aunty's alone. keystrokes for erase, (especially safe now with auto-save) case adjustment, and bringing up the print requester. One new feature I thought I would love would be as-you-type-spell-checking. I type faster when my muse is pumping than the program even in ram can check and it distracts me so I simply wait for my writer's block to spell check as God intended. Now if they want to get a start for Aunty's next birthday they can think about voice dictation (a thirty foot cable) and from a tape recorder. An art-deco cheat-sheet suitable for framing of the key-strokes, sub-liminal flashes the user can program - I am not hungry, I like to clean, my wife does not have too many pairs of shoes. So for this month from Pro-Write and Aunty who both keep getting better and better hope you have a happy birthday when your turn comes ! Aunt Amiga is Dorothy Hall
