Programmer's File Editor Beta 1 Release The files that make up this beta release of PFE are: pfe.exe The Windows 3.1 executable pfe.hlp The help file pfedos.exe A support module that handles running compilers, etc pfedos.pif The PIF file for this module ddetest.exe A Visual Basic program for testing the DDE link printmap.exe A diagnostic program that prints out saved key mapping files readme.txt General release notes files.txt This file You should place the first four files into the same directory, which should ideally be on your path. You needn't have the printmap.exe module on your hard disk, but you should keep it around in case you want to report a problem. If you set up your own key mappings, PFE will save them by default in files called pfe.key in your Windows directory. It will also set up an initialisation file called pfe.ini, also in your Windows directory.
