PFF For MS Windows (1.3) PFF For MS-DOS (1.5) Programmer's File Formatter PFF offers Hewlett Packard Deskjet family printer users a mechanism for printing files that allows up to 108 lines of code on a single 8-1/2" x 11" page (74 in the standard DOS version). There are two versions of PFF available for MS-DOS based systems - PFF 1.3 for Windows and PFF 1.5 for DOS. Both provide line numbering and a one inch left margin for hole punching. Both allow a preview mode after file selection so that you can ensure that you are printing the file that you actually want. Additionally, PFF for Windows allows you to edit the file using the Windows NOTEPAD editor. To start the DOS version. type in the executable name followed by up to eight filenames. Each filename should include the appropriate drive and path information unless they reside in your current directory. You will be asked if you would like to view the first page of each file - a yes or no answer is required. You are then asked if you would like to print this file and if line numbers should be used. Answer appropriately to each question. PFF for Windows provides a standard Windows file selection interface for choosing files. You have the choice of double clicking the filename to automatically envoke the viewer or you may single click the filename and then choose from the Print, View or Edit buttons for appropriate action. If you select the View option, either by double clicking or by clicking on the View button, you will be allow to view the file in a fully scrollable window with unlimited line length so as not to chop or wrap those long lines of code. From the Viewer, you can select to return to the Selection window or Print the file from the Viewer. The source to these programs is available from the system which you downloaded to executable from.
