This file contains installation instructions and description of available functions under Windows 3.0 and Windows 3.1. Read BONUS.TXT on how you can earn money selling ZIP Manager. Read ORDER.TXT to order ZIP Manager. Corporate licenses are available. For corporate licenses a ZIP Manager LAN installation diskette can be ordered. ZIP Manager is also available under OS/2 2.0. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTE: 1. Start Microsoft Windows. 2. Insert diskette into drive A. 3. From the File menu of Program Manager, choose Run. 4. Type a:setup and press ENTER. INSTALLING FROM HARD DRIVE OR LAN: 1. The following instructions use hard disk letter D as an example. Any drive letter will work. 2. If the installation files have already copied to the hard drive or network drive skip this step. a) Insert diskette into drive A. b) At the DOS command prompt type: MD D:\ZIPMAN COPY A:\*.* D:\ZIPMAN 3. Start Microsoft Windows. 4. From the File menu of Program Manager, choose Run. 5. Type D:\ZIPMAN\SETUP and press ENTER. SUMMARY OF FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS OF ZIP MANAGER: 1. OPEN Zip file. ZIP Manager will allow you to view the contents of a ZIP File or ZIP Self Extract File. Choose "Open" in the menu "File" to view a ZIP File or ZIP Self Extract File. In the Open Dialog Box you can choose more than one file. 2. Create a NEW ZIP file. To create a new ZIP file choose "New" from the "File" Menu. 3. DELETING a ZIP file. To delete a ZIP file choose "Delete" from the "File" Menu. 4. DRAG AND DROP features of ZIP Manager. To add files to a ZIP file, Start FILE MANAGER and select the files and or directory that you want to add and drop them on to ZIP Manager. NOT AVAILABLE under Windows 3.0. 5. ZIP, UNZIP, and Self Extract OPTIONS. Choose "Options" from either the "ZIP", "UNZIP" or "SelfExtract" menu to change the options when executing the desired program. 6. ADD/UPDATE/FRESHEN/MOVE/DELETE files to/from ZIP File NOT using DRAG/DROP. Choose "Add","Update","Freshen","Move","Delete" from the "ZIP" menu to perform the desired function. 7. EXTRACT/FRESHEN files from ZIP File. Choose "Extract" or "Freshen" from the "UNZIP" or the "SelfExtract" menu to perform the desired function. 8. TEST ZIP file integrity. Choose "Test ZIP File Integrity" from the "UNZIP" or the "SelfExtract" menu to perform the desired function. 9. CONVERT ZIP to EXE. Choose "Convert ZIP to EXE" from the "Utilities" menu to convert a ZIP file to a ZIP Self Extracting file. 10. FIX a ZIP file. Choose "Fix ZIP File" from the "Utilities" menu to fix ZIP file. 11. CHANGE FONT of ZIP File window. Choose "Change Font" from the "View" menu to change the font of ZIP File window. NOT AVAILABLE under Windows 3.0. 12. SORT ZIP File window. Choose "Sort" from the "View" menu to change the sort order of the files in the ZIP File window. 13. REFRESH ZIP File window. Choose "Refresh" from the "View" menu to refresh the ZIP File window. 14. SHOW ALL DETAILS/FILENAME ONLY in ZIP File window. Choose "Show All Details" or "Show Filename Only" from the "View" menu to perform the desired function. 15. SHOW PARENT of ZIP File. Choose "Show Parent" from the "View" menu to activate the window of the ZIP File that contains the currently displayed ZIP in ZIP file. An '*' before the ZIP File name indicates that it is a ZIP in ZIP File. 16. SHOW FILE in ZIP File. Choose "Show File" from the "View" menu to start the application that is associated with the selected file in the ZIP file. ZIP Manager extracts the selected file into a temporary directory and searches for the association. If it finds an association, it executes the associated application from the temporary directory, passing the name of the file as the first parameter. If it does not find an association, it executes notepad.exe. You can associate an application with an extension by choosing "Associate" from the "File" menu in FILE MANAGER. 17. RUN Choose "Run" from the "View" menu to execute the selected file or to execute another application that can display the selected file. ZIP Manager extracts the selected file into a temporary directory and then executes the command from the temporary directory exactly as typed in the Run Dialog Box.
