How to become a HUB?

SUPER-REGIONAL HUBS:
     Make his mailruns via The C.I.A. or AMVETSNET(tm) BBS
     Carry all Conferences
     Distribute the Network's Archive Files
     Provide daily (or more frequent) mailruns
REGIONAL HUBS:
     have all of the above as options.
REGULAR HUBS:
     also have all as options as do any lower level Hubs

SUPER-REGIONAL Hubs will recieve a series of network ID's and be responsible
for maintaining that list.  Each series will be in an area-code type format.
No more than 9 such HUBS will be formed and preference will be given
to boards in specific geographic regions.  This ability will allow any
new node to get started via a nearby servicing HUB.

Geographic preferences.  The United states is to be divided into areas
consisting of their respective AREA-CODE numbers. When filled to the maximum,
for that area-code, numbers will be decided by the NETWORK ADMINISTRATION.
ALL id numbers will be assigned by the NETWORK ADMINISTRATORS.

Example ID's:
     0  AMVETSNET(tm) BBS (NETHUB) - For POSTLINK/PCRELAY Nodes.
     1  C.I.A. BBS (SUPER REGIONAL HUB) - For Virtual Software  & FIDO Nodes.
  4100  410 Area Code 0 = First Node in 410 Area Code 
  4101  410 Area Code 1 = Second Node in 410 Area Code etc. . . .

All HUBS are NODES on the network. Any bbs may echo mail via the hub of 
their choice.  

We normally charge $10 registration fee and $15 a year membership fee. This
totals $25 for the first time node and then $15 a year there after.
All monies recieved are for maintaining the NETWORK and for expenses for 
upkeep of the system.

Some hubs that call Long Distance may ask for a donation to help defrey their
LD charges for calling the NETHUB. This is okay, but remember that all NODES
may call any HUB or the NETHUB for mail instead of the latter. A HUB can not 
charge you for access to our network. We have membership fee that is payable 
only to the NETHUB.  

Regional Hubs are urged to provide free mail access to nodes.

The network will use the VNET software for Virtual BBS's. We will provide
a UTI (Universal Text Interface) for the use of POSTLINK or PCRELAY via
the NETHUB only. [ UTI is in the working now. ]

Conferences are currently setup as conference 101 thru 112.
The low end contains VETERAN related conferences. We will add more 
conferences as we need them. New CONFLST.TXT files can be obtained through
your HUB. If someone would like to HOST a conference, send your request 
to #4 @1 AMVETSNET(tm) or #4 @4101 on VNet. On RIME to Barry Davis @ Site 113 
made reciever only. We will then decide if your conference is worthy of a 
place on a VETERANS type network. Please send info of your conf rules and 
goals etc along with your request.

If you are becoming a NODE, use the above info to send us a message, or send
in the registration form provided in this packet. Only the NET Admin can 
authorize your immediate access to the network and provide you with the 
logon information for his system.  

ALL nodes and/or hubs applying _before_ 12/31/92 will have the registration
fee of $10 waved. Thus costing only $15.00.

The network is new, however, we are recieving alot of interest.
