If you like to play games on your PC..and if you have any interest in 
playing a game vs. a human opponent via modem, check out Megatron.  
This is a 3-d arcade style game (similar playing perspective to 
Wolfenstein 3D).  Each opponent is a robot that searches out the other 
in a maze.  Once engaged, the robots shoot it out with lasers or 
rockets (or run if the battle is too intense).  The game supports Com 
ports 1-4 and baud rates to 9600.  NOTE:  if the two ends of the 
connection have different speed modems, be sure both ends are set to 
the greatest common denominator.  For example, if you have a 14.4k 
modem and your modem partner has a 2400, be sure to set your comm speed 
to 2400.  Playing speed and reaction time is very acceptable, even at 
2400.  The graphics are handled by the program at each end, so very 
little data is sent over the modem.
 
Requires VGA.  Uses a mouse/trackball if you have one.  Good hunting!
Can be played in "human vs computer" mode if you don't have a modem 
partner to shoot it up with..
