Available immediately, these kits offer $199 savings on the LANtastic for Windows network utility which is available separately for $299. The LANtastic for Windows Starter Kit includes two Artisoft(TM) adapters, cabling and the newest versions of the award-winning LANtastic Network Operating System and LANtastic for Windows network utility. It is available with the LANtastic AE-3(TM), AE-2(TM) and A2Mbps(TM) Starter Kits. "Artisoft's leadership in Windows networking is making Windows' easy-to-use graphical interface more accessible than ever to PC users," commented Dave Hallmen, Artisoft's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. The LANtastic network is recognized as the leading DOS-based peer-to-peer network and has won numerous industry awards for its cost-effective features, performance, and ease of use. It allows up to 300 users of IBM(R)-compatible computers to connect and share information and peripheral devices such as printers, hard drives and CD-ROMs. LANtastic Starter Kits offer a complete hardware and software networking solution for two PCs -- two Artisoft adapters, LANtastic NOS, cabling and documentation -- from which users can add nodes by installing additional adapters and cabling. Designed to offer a one-stop solution, LANtastic Starter Kits allow users to build their networks around their choice of Artisoft Ethernet-standard adapters or the proprietary LANtastic A2Mbps adapters. The LANtastic for Windows network utility has the same new features as the DOS-based LANtastic 4.1, but within the easy, graphical user interface (GUI) of Microsoft Windows' pull-down menus, icons and on-line help. It supports Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) so that Windows applications can use LANtastic e-mail to exchange messages and transfer data. It runs with LANtastic v4.0 and higher and Microsoft Windows v3.0 and higher. The LANtastic for Windows Starter Kits are priced as follows: with the LANtastic AE-3(TM) Ethernet Starter Kit (ISA), $899; with the LANtastic AE-2(TM) Ethernet (ISA only), $799; with the LANtastic A2Mbps Starter Kit (ISA), $599. Artisoft develops and manufactures a full line of hardware and software for local area networks including the LANtastic Local Area Network.
