We do not propose to set ourselves as "Modem Police" in any form;
understand that as a group, SEMSOG and its associates are making an attempt
to provide an enhanced level of quality both for ourselves and our users.
Compliance with the previously established criteria is strictly voluntary,
as is one's initial contact with the group.

Any Bulletin Board System owner/operator may request to join SEMSOG by
first completing the file REGISTER.TXT found within the file SEMSOGxx.ZIP,
which is available online at the SEMSOG support system (Edge of Sanity
(313)584-1253) and other boards in the metropolitan area.

Please complete the requested information; upload the completed file to any
Associated system, using the naming convention [your-system-name.REG] _AND_
also return a copy with your signature by U.S. Snail to ...

Due to restrictions on the uploading of files at the Edge of Sanity, it
will necessitate registrations being ASCII uploaded within a message to the
Sysop or, if possible, a file-attached message through FIDONET to
1:120/279.

In advance of approval, the system operator will be contacted by one or
more representatives of the group.

The ratification of applying systems is based upon the mentioned
validation, completion of a 14 day evaluation period in the SEMSOG_3 echo
available on Associated systems whereby the current associates and others
may question directly the applicants, and acceptance by the //SEMSOG (tm)
Associates.

An associate of SEMSOG shall have the right to advertise their system as
one and may include the SEMSOG name in bulletins, messages, origin lines,
tagged .zip or other compressed files, and will be granted full access to
the SEMSOG support system (Edge of Sanity (313) 584-1253 - 120/279@FIDONET)
for the life of that system and the length of their association.

As an indication of their involvement, the owner/operator shall receive a
frameable Certificate of Association with the name of their BBS (as
specified in their registration request) appearing as a SEMSOG Associate.

Association is voluntary, and may be terminated by the member if they wish.
Notice is requested should a system wish to withdraw.

As stated in the BYLAWS.txt, association is subject to termination, through
a majority vote by Associated systems, if it is found that a system
deviates significantly from the established guidelines or shows unethical
behavior and/or sub-standard operating practices that may serve to
undermine the purpose and intent of SEMSOG and its Associated systems.

There will be monthly meetings on a loosely scheduled basis, most likely in
the form of assembly at some eatery for fun 'n fellowship.  Associates and
others are greatly encouraged to attend as their schedule permits.
Particulars will be posted.

Feedback in the form of proposed amendments to the operational parameters
of this organization are welcomed as message posts at Edge of Sanity and
many of the systems that may enable the networked message bases.
