Showlog version 3.5 was published in February '92 with the following changes from its predecessor: 1) The Main Menu was re-organized with the QUIT function moved to the bottom and the ADD function moved to the top. The menu operation was also changed with the message prompts being removed. An empty database will result in everything except ADD, UTILITY and QUIT being disabled. Once data is entered then the remaining functions are enabled. 2) An additional index was added to keep track of the Entry Date. This entry date is automatically maintained by ShowLog and reflects, as its name refers, the date the entry was made (not to be confused with Record Date). With this new index a user can print/browse through data that was entered on any given day or period of time. 3) At the Main Menu screen a brief HELP text is provided. ShowLog version 3.6 was published in March '92 with the following changes from its predecessor: 1) The ADD function was changed to accomodate two Function Keys. F9 will load fields with previously entered information and the F10 key will load several fields at once. 2) The HELP text on the main menu was removed. ShowLog version 3.7 was published in April '92 with the following changes from its predecessor: 1) Global help utility added to provide help when F1 is pressed. 2) During startup the program checks for missing files. Portions of this were skipped in v3.6. ShowLog version 3.8 was published in July '92 with the following additions. 1) During an ADD or CHANGE you may draw from a user maintained text file which contains names pertinent to either CATEGORY, PRODUCER or STAR. 2) In the UTILITY menu the user data files for CATEGORY, PRODUCER or STAR may be edited. ShowLog version 3.9 was put out as a minor correction to v3.8 above. 1) Add PURGE to MAIN Menu - to allow removal of all selections of a specified tape number. 2) Corrected CHANGE routine to eliminate possibility of values of (0) zero being added for tape numbers or selection numbers. ShowLog version 4.0 was put out in August '92 and was the result of a users request for an additional field to handle the CO-Star names. 1) Additional database field of CO-STAR was added along with a new index and report/browse routines to support the new field. 2) Upgrade routine to convert older style databases to the newer v4.0 format =============================================================================== As you can see, ShowLog has undergone several changes in the past few months. This is unusual for most software products including shareware. However, as a result of several users requests and a chance to do some improving on my own, I took the opportunity and after a few brief releases, I am hoping that things will be stable for a while. I appreciate hearing from interested users, especially registered users, and do my best to accomodate the needs of each. Occasionally I run into a request that is unclear or simply not possible within the ShowLog environment but unless a users writes and asks, well, you just never know. Thanks to everyone to has supported ShowLog. It is appreciated. Roy Mickelsen Author ================================================================================
