Dictionaire genealogique des familles du Quebec by Dick Lecompte Mon Jan 21 1991 ------------------------------- Dictionaire genealogique des familles du Quebec by Rene Jette 1983 Les Presses de l'Universite de Montreal ISBN 2-7606-0645-5 can be special ordered by most better book stores but most of the members of the ACGS have ordered theirs from Canada. Librairie du Nouveau Monde 103 St.Pierre C.P.83 Sta-B Quebec ,Quebec QC G1K7A1 Phone (418)694-9475 The cost of the book is $200 Canadian.Yes TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS !!!!! It covers most all marriages from the original immigrants to Canada up to about 1730. The main area of concentration is the St.Lawarance River valley from north of Quebec to Montreal.THere is not that much on New Brunswick or the Acadia area. Other researches have focused their work on those territories. I would recommend that you call some of the libraries and review the book for a while to see if it really can help .If your ancestors are from N.B.or Acadia $10 worth of photocopies would be a DEAL. THe above mentioned book store will take Visa or MC over the phone .They speak broken English but with the number of members that have ordered thet have this down pretty good. A good source for researching Acadian ancestors is Le Grande Arrangement des Acadiens au Quebec Adrien Bergeron Editions Elysee C.P.188 Succursale Cote-St.-Luc Montreal,Canada.HV42Y4 ISBN 0-88545-055-8 THis is an 8 volume set but I dont know the $.It not on the best seller list and other than the library I dont know of any other members who have this series.
