	The first edition of this book was published in 1974.  This
is the 4th revised edition, reflecting additional and updated
material.
	The Scotch-Irish differ from the Irish immigrants from the
south and west who fled famine and persecution to come to America
in the 19th century.  The group featured here were 18th century
immigrants, and their history and ancestry is detailed beginning
with the Scotch emigration to Ulster in 1600.

	There are many illustrations of maps, charts, and legal
