Ostfriesland Research by James Davis Thu Nov 28, 1991 ------------------------------- "Die Ostfriesen in Amerkia", by Pastor Schnucker and Translated by Rev. Kenneth DeWall, $19.95 (including postage) from Ostfriesen Ancestral Research Assn., Rev. Kenneth DeWall, 143 Virginia Ave., Bethalto, Illinois, 62010. The East Friesens in America is family, church, and local history, from their arrival in 1847 to Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota, and Minnesota up to 1916. This looks interesting. What church denomination is invoved here? What towns in SD and MN are involved? Does the index show any: ..ENNS, FAST, LEPP, LOHRENZ, PENNER, WIEBE, or WIENS or similiar ..spellings such as Entz, Leopp, Lohrentz, Wieb, Wientz? My people came from Friesland to Prussia to Russia to the mid-west. I doubt that there will be many, if any, of my names in your book. The Index to East Friesland Newspaper (Die Ostfriesen Nachrichten) from 1884 to 1916, $9.95. by Rev. DeWall at the same address as above. This also looks interesting. What is the proper title? When you get it please see if any of my names are included.
