GFD0012 This is the Gravis File Decription "GFD" for GUS0012.ZIP If you give the accompaning files to anyone, this file must be included. Installation Notes: First make a backup copy of your older version of all your Windows drivers. in the [d:]\ULTRASND\WINDOWS directory: either copy it to a floppy disk or another subdirectory. Then copy or extract the new driver files to your [d:]\ULTRASND\WINDOWS directory. The new files will overwrite the similarly named older versions. *Important - For the new drivers to be correctly installed, it is essential that you first allow Windows to fully remove the old drivers and associated files from your system's initialization files. Remove your old 'Ultra Wave and MIDI Synth', and 'Ultra MIDI Out port' Windows drivers (just those two!) using the 'Remove' button in the Windows' 'Drivers' applet in the control pannel. Restart Windows. Consult your UltraSound Manual for instructions on loading the new Windows drivers (starting on pg 32). About the 12/17/92 Windows Drivers Release: The GUS0012 Windows Drivers release allows STEREO recording and playback at sampling rates to 44.1kHz, and adds the MIDI IN port which was missing in the original release. Please note this is an interim, though fully tested release. Some MID controllers are not yet hooked up (eg: Pan). Advanced Gravis is preparing a new Windows driver set which will support all appropriate MIDI controllers. This driver set be included with the General MIDI Patch set mailout, free to all registered UltraSound owners. The RELS1217 driver set must be used with the current 'interim' patches only. The new GM patches will have a new header and will not work with this driver. - Also included with this se is a new MIXER.EXE applet which includes separate control of MIDI output volume. Simply placing it in the ULTRASND\WINDOWS directory will enable it, providing you had installed the previous MIXER.EXE. END
