SFXID version 1.0 by Michael W. Cocke Copyright 1991, Michael W. Cocke ------------------------------------- SFXID is a freeware program that will look at all the *.EXE files in a specified directory and will tell you which (if any) of them are self- extracting ZIP files or self-extracting LHArc files. SFXID was a byproduct of my work on ZDCS, the Zipfile Duplicate Checking System. ZDCS is a complete shareware package that allows a sysop to detect duplicate files in the existing file database and in uploaded files. It's very easy to use, pretty powerful, and has real docs. As you can probably tell, I don't plan on spending a lot of time on the SFXID docs. 8-)> I thought SFXID by itself might be useful to someone out there, so I stuck a front end on the code (originally a subroutine) and I'm releasing it. I'll be real honest with you - the LHX file detection is brand new and still being worked on. I had a very limited statistical universe of LHZ files to test with.... SFXID is freeware. Copy it all you want and upload it to other bulletin board systems. Just don't alter it or distribute the program without this text file. Have fun! If anything odd happens, please let me know.
